Gianna Jessen

"My life is truly a miracle. I'm a Christian, and I truly believe it was God who allowed me to live. How can you be alive like this and not believe there's this awesome Creator?''

Gianna Jessen was sentenced to death by “lethal injection” in 1977, not by the criminal justice system, but by her 17-year-old mother in a southern California office of Planned Parenthood. The state usually allows a set process of appeals for those on death row, however there was no such appeal for Gianna. No advocate to even state her case. Not one single person on Earth stood up to prevent Gianna’s execution, but from Heaven on high, Almighty God overruled the sentence.

On July 20th, 2002 Gianna testified at a hearing before the House Judiciary Subcommittee in defense of the “Born Alive Infants Protection Act” that she had experienced, first hand, a late-term saline abortion.

As the baby to be aborted in this type of abortion can often times live outside of the womb, a solution of saline has to be injected into the mother’s womb in order to kill the child before birth. The fluid then poisons the baby, burning the child’s skin and lungs. This process results in the delivery of a dead baby within 24 hours.

Gianna Jessen remained in that solution for almost 18 hours and was delivered alive on April 6th at 6:00 am to the shock of the attending nurse who panicked and called an ambulance. The staff at the hospital emergency room placed Gianna in an incubator and she simply refused to die.

During the torturous 18 hour abortion process, Gianna suffered a severe loss of oxygen to her brain. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and placed in a foster home. Her doctors stated that she would probably never sit, crawl or stand. Today Gianna is a runner and rock climber.

Gianna is also a passionate pro-life activist. She answers the argument of a woman’s right to choose with this statement: "If it (abortion) is all about women's rights and there's nothing else involved, what were my rights? As a female in the womb, what were my rights?''

Tennessee is now home for this beautiful young DOTK, but she travels extensively, sharing her story and her songs with audiences all over the world. Her life has been an inspiration to millions. She is currently working on a new CD with Christian musician, Phil Keaghy.

Wow. The abortion industry found out that it’s tougher than they thought to destroy a Daughter of the King of Kings.
